History of Rifle Range Nature Park
The site was formerly the Bukit Timah Rifle Range used by the British colonial administration and later the Singapore Armed Forces from the 1920s until the 1990s, and the Sin Seng granite quarry. After quarrying ceased, the area regenerated into secondary forest. The 66-hectare site was developed by the National Parks Board and opened as Rifle Range Nature Park on 12 November 2022 to serve as a buffer to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
