History of Bukit Batok Nature Park
The park occupies a former granite quarry site that operated until the 1980s. The quarry and surrounding hill were also associated with World War II, with a memorial plaque within the park marking the site where Australian soldiers fought. The area was later developed by the National Parks Board into a nature park, retaining the quarry pond and regenerating secondary forest.
