History of Hindhede Nature Park
The park is built around the former Hindhede Quarry, a granite quarry that operated until the late 20th century. After quarrying ceased, the site was rehabilitated and developed by the National Parks Board as Hindhede Nature Park, opened in 2001 to act as a green buffer and visitor gateway to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, protecting the reserve's core forest from edge effects.
