About Naida Caves
Naida Caves are a network of man-made caves located outside the walls of Diu Fort near Jalandhar Beach in Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Created by large-scale quarrying of rock by the Portuguese for the construction of Diu Fort, the caves feature interconnected chambers, rugged laterite formations and natural openings that allow sunlight inside. Today they are a popular tourist attraction known for their labyrinthine passages and photogenic interiors.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a maze-like network of interconnected rock-cut chambers and tunnels with uneven rocky floors, high walls and large natural openings where sunlight streams in. The site is located in a quiet coastal area with cactus and scrub vegetation outside. Inside, visitors can walk through narrow passages and open halls, observe textured rock surfaces and light patterns, and take photographs. The caves are largely undeveloped with natural lighting and minimal facilities.
