About INS Khukri Memorial
The INS Khukri Memorial is a naval war memorial located on a hillock overlooking Chakratirth Beach in Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It commemorates INS Khukri, an Indian Navy frigate sunk off the Diu coast on 9 December 1971 during the Indo-Pakistan War, with the loss of 18 officers and 176 sailors including Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla. The open-air memorial features a scaled replica of the ship and memorial plaques honoring the crew.
Visitors guide

The central feature is a full-scale replica model of INS Khukri mounted on a pedestal, surrounded by a landscaped garden, pathways, and a memorial wall listing names of personnel lost. The site offers panoramic sea views, photo opportunities, and a quiet space for remembrance. The area is exposed with little shade and is best explored on foot.
