History of Kent Ridge Park
The ridge, formerly Pasir Panjang Ridge, was the site of the Battle of Pasir Panjang from 13-14 February 1942 during World War II, where the Malay Regiment defended the area in one of the last battles before the fall of Singapore. Wartime relics and interpretive markers remain, and the nearby Reflections at Bukit Chandu commemorates the battle. The park was later established and named Kent Ridge after the Duke of Kent's visit in 1952.
