Amritaghateswarar-Abirami Temple

The Amritaghateswarar-Abirami Temple is a Hindu temple in Thirukadaiyur, Mayiladuthurai District, Tamil Nadu, dedicated to Shiva as Amritaghateswarar and Parvati as Abirami. Located about 21 km east of Mayiladuthurai, it is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams revered in Tamil Saivism. The temple is renowned for the legend of Markandeya and for Sashti Poorthi and Sadhabishekam rituals marking 60th and 80th birthdays, and displays Dravidian architecture with gopurams and mandapams.
