Ooty Lake

Ooty Lake is an artificial lake located in Udhagamandalam (Ooty) in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. Constructed in 1824 by John Sullivan, the first Collector of Coimbatore, it was formed by damming mountain streams. Set amidst eucalyptus groves and surrounded by hills, the 65-acre lake is a central tourist attraction managed by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, known for its boathouse and boating facilities.
