Kolukkumalai Tea Estate

Kolukkumalai is a small village in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu, situated at approximately 7,130 feet above sea level. It is home to the world's highest tea estate, established in the early 1900s with a colonial-era factory built in the 1930s. The estate produces premium orthodox organic tea using traditional methods and original machinery. Visitors access the location via an off-road jeep safari from Suryanelli, Kerala, to witness panoramic sunrise views over the Western Ghats and explore the historic tea processing facility.
