Ayyappancoil Hanging Bridge
The Ayyappancoil Hanging Bridge is a 200-metre pedestrian suspension bridge spanning the Periyar River in Idukki district, Kerala. Constructed in 2012-13 by Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering (KEL), it connects Ayyappancoil and Kanchiyar Grama Panchayaths. Positioned beside the historic Sastha Temple at Mattukatta, the bridge offers scenic views of rolling hills, dense greenery, and river flow. It serves as both a vital connectivity link and a popular tourist attraction, regarded as one of the longest hanging bridges in the district.
