Kwar Village
Kwar Village is a remote settlement in the upper Rupin Valley of Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, situated at an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters. It lies beyond the Chanshal Pass and is separated from Dodra village by the Rupin River. The village is notable for its traditional wooden architecture, cent percent organic farming practices, and distinct socio-cultural identity centered around local deities like Kwar Devta. Accessible via a challenging single-lane road from Rohru, it remains cut off during winter due to heavy snowfall on the pass.
