About Vanishing Island
Vanishing Island is a small white sandbar located off Tambo in Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte. Situated in the channel between Samal Island and Davao City, it is notable for appearing only during low tide and submerging at high tide. The islet is known for its fine white sand, shallow clear waters and panoramic views of the Davao Gulf.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a narrow, flat sandbar with fine white sand surrounded by shallow, clear turquoise water that is exposed only during low tide. There are no permanent structures, trees or shade on the islet itself. The setting offers open views of Davao City skyline and Samal Island coastline. Access is by boat only, and visitors wade onto the sandbar to swim, walk, take photos and relax before the tide rises and covers the island again.
