About Tower of Silence
The Tower of Silence (Dakhma) in Diu is a circular stone funerary structure built by the Parsi community on Diu Island in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Located on the outskirts of Diu town, it was used for traditional Zoroastrian sky burial rites. Now disused and preserved as a heritage monument, it reflects the historic Parsi presence during the Portuguese period and is notable for its distinctive architecture and cultural heritage.
