About The Old Mill
The Old Mill in South Perth is a restored 1835 windmill located at Mill Point on the Swan River foreshore near the Narrows Bridge. Built for William Kernot Shenton, it is the oldest surviving industrial building in Western Australia. The whitewashed tower with sails stands in parkland with interpretive displays and river views. State Heritage listed and managed by the City of South Perth, it represents early colonial flour milling in the Swan River Colony.
