About Tennant Creek Telegraph Station Historical Reserve
Tennant Creek Telegraph Station Historical Reserve is a heritage-listed repeater station on the Australian Overland Telegraph Line, located about 12 km north of Tennant Creek in the Barkly region of the Northern Territory. Built in 1872 from local stone, it was one of 12 stations linking Adelaide and Darwin. The reserve preserves the original stone buildings, telegraph equipment and waterhole in an arid landscape.
