History of Tathra Wharf
Constructed between 1860 and 1862 to service coastal shipping for the Bega Valley's dairy, timber and livestock industries. It operated as a cargo and passenger steamer wharf until the mid-20th century. It is the last remaining deep-water timber wharf of its design on the eastern seaboard and is listed on the NSW State Heritage Register. The wharf and buildings were extensively restored after damage in the 2018 bushfires.
