About Mimosa Rocks National Park
Mimosa Rocks National Park is a 5,802-hectare coastal national park in Bega Valley Shire on the far south coast of New South Wales between Tathra and Bermagui. Established in 1973, it protects 35 kilometres of coastline featuring headlands, beaches, lagoons and offshore Mimosa Rocks. The park is noted for its scenic beaches including Aragunnu and Gillards, coastal lakes such as Wapengo and Middle Lagoon, and opportunities for camping, swimming and bushwalking.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a largely undeveloped coastal landscape with long sandy beaches, rocky headlands, coastal lagoons and littoral rainforest. The park is accessed via unsealed roads leading to separate day-use areas and campgrounds such as Aragunnu, Gillards, Middle Lagoon and Picnic Point. Facilities are basic and natural. Visitors can swim and surf at patrolled and unpatrolled beaches, fish, kayak on lagoons, walk short coastal tracks and lookouts, and camp close to the beach in designated campgrounds.
