History of Sri Bugga Rama Lingeswara Temple
According to legend, while Lord Rama passed through this area after defeating Ravana, he wished to worship the Saikata Lingam. Finding no water available, he dug a small spring and performed abhishekam to the Shiva lingam with that water. This event led to the deity being known as Rama Lingeswara, and priests continue to perform abhishekam using water from this spring.
