About Sissu Waterfall
Sissu Waterfall, locally known as Palden Lhamo Dhar, is a tall cliff waterfall located on the north face of the mountain wall across the Chandra River from Sissu village in Lahaul and Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of approximately 3,120 meters, it is visible directly from the Manali-Leh Highway (NH3) and the Sissu Helipad. The waterfall is fed by glacial melt, exhibiting peak flow during summer monsoons and freezing into an ice column in winter.
