History of Secunderabad Clock Tower
Constructed in 1896 and inaugurated on 1 February 1897, the tower was built by the British government to honor officers stationed at the Secunderabad Cantonment. In 2003, the tower faced potential demolition due to traffic concerns but was preserved due to public persuasion. It was renovated in 2005-2006 and again in 2020 by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The tower is recognized as a heritage structure and was featured in the logo for Secunderabad's 200-year celebrations in 2006.
