About Ross and Smith Islands
Ross and Smith Islands are twin islands off Aerial Bay near Diglipur in North Andaman, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Joined by a natural white sand bar (tombolo) that emerges at low tide, they are known for clear turquoise waters, pristine beaches and undisturbed natural surroundings. Part of a protected marine area, the islands offer swimming, beach walks and photography, and are accessed by a short boat ride from Aerial Bay Jetty.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect two forested islands connected by a narrow natural sandbar that is walkable during low tide and partially submerged during high tide. The setting includes white sandy beaches, shallow clear turquoise water, and dense tropical vegetation. There are no permanent settlements or shops on the islands. Visitors can walk the sandbar, swim in designated shallow areas, relax on the beach, and take photographs. Access is by small boat from Aerial Bay Jetty and visits are day-only.
