Rosalind Park

Rosalind Park is a 59-hectare heritage-listed Victorian park in central Bendigo, Victoria, adjacent to Pall Mall and Bendigo Creek. Established in 1856 during the gold rush, it is notable for its landscaped gardens, historic conservatory and fernery, cascades, statues, and the Poppet Head lookout tower. The park forms the city's central green space and connects to the Bendigo Creek Trail and nearby cultural precinct.

Visitors can expect a large landscaped urban park with formal gardens, lawns, mature trees, and heritage features. Areas to explore include the Conservatory with seasonal floral displays, the Fernery, ornamental cascades and ponds, statues and heritage monuments, a large playground, and the Poppet Head lookout offering views over Bendigo. Sealed walking paths wind through the park alongside Bendigo Creek, with picnic areas and open spaces for relaxation.

Reserved in 1856 and developed from the 1860s during the Bendigo gold rush, Rosalind Park was created from former Government Camp and mining land. It was progressively landscaped in Victorian garden style with conservatory, fernery, cascades and monuments, and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register as an important example of a 19th-century public park reflecting Bendigo's prosperity during the gold era.

The park is the principal public garden and community gathering place for Greater Bendigo, hosting community events, and is valued for its heritage landscape, horticultural displays, and role as a central recreational and cultural landmark adjoining the city's arts and civic precinct.
