History of Roma Street Parkland
Developed on the former Roma Street railyards and goods yards that served Brisbane from the 1870s. The Queensland Government transformed the 16-hectare site into public parkland, designed by PARC Landscape Architects with Urbis, and officially opened in 2001 by Premier Peter Beattie. The project represented a major urban renewal of inner-city rail land into public open space.
