About Rockhampton Heritage Village
Rockhampton Heritage Village is an open-air heritage museum in Parkhurst, north of Rockhampton, Queensland. Set on 11 hectares, it preserves and displays more than 20 historic buildings relocated from across Central Queensland, dating from the late 19th to mid-20th century. The village showcases pioneer life through restored homesteads, shops, a school, church, vintage vehicles and machinery, illustrating the region's rural and town history.
Visitors guide
Visitors can explore a village-like setting with relocated timber buildings including homesteads, a woolshed, schoolhouse, church, general store, and workshops arranged along unsealed streets and grassed areas. Interiors are furnished with period furniture, tools, and memorabilia. Displays include vintage cars, horse-drawn vehicles, tractors and agricultural machinery. The site is largely outdoors with shaded picnic areas, and visitors can walk self-guided or join guided tours to view collections and demonstrations on open days.
