About Pondok Tanggui Feeding Station
Pondok Tanggui Feeding Station is an orangutan supplementary feeding site inside Tanjung Puting National Park in Kotawaringin Barat, Central Kalimantan. Located along the Sekonyer River and accessible only by boat, it is one of three main feeding stations in the park alongside Tanjung Harapan and Camp Leakey. Established to support rehabilitation of ex-captive and wild orangutans, it allows visitors to observe semi-wild orangutans during scheduled feeding times in a peat swamp forest setting.
Visitors guide
Visitors arrive by klotok boat along the Sekonyer River and walk via a wooden boardwalk through peat swamp forest to a designated feeding platform. During scheduled feeding times, semi-wild orangutans may appear to take supplementary food provided by rangers. The setting is natural forest with limited structures including a viewing area, ranger shelter and jetty. Sightings are not guaranteed and visitors observe quietly under ranger supervision.
