About Phu Khiao Handicraft Promotion Centre
The Phu Khiao Handicraft Promotion Centre is a community-based cultural attraction in Phu Khiao District, Chaiyaphum Province, northeastern Thailand. It serves as a showcase and sales outlet for local handicrafts, particularly hand-woven silk and cotton textiles, bamboo and rattan products, and other OTOP goods made by village groups. The centre supports local artisans, preserves traditional Isan weaving skills, and offers visitors an opportunity to view craft demonstrations and purchase authentic handmade products directly from producers.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a modest indoor exhibition and sales area displaying hand-woven textiles, bamboo crafts and other locally made products from Phu Khiao and surrounding villages. The setting is a community centre-style building with display shelves and demonstration areas where artisans may show weaving or craft techniques. The experience is focused on observing traditional craftsmanship, learning about local materials and patterns, and browsing for souvenirs to purchase directly from community groups.
