History of Pantai Plengkung (G-Land)
G-Land was first surfed by international surfers in 1972 after being spotted during an aerial survey of the southeast Java coast. The name G-Land is attributed to Grajagan Bay, the green jungle surroundings and the great waves. Since then it has become one of Indonesia's earliest and most internationally recognized surf discoveries, establishing Banyuwangi as a global surf destination.
