About Oliver Hill Battery
Oliver Hill Battery is a preserved World War II coastal defence installation on Rottnest Island, Western Australia, about 19 kilometres off the coast of Fremantle. Constructed between 1936 and 1938 to protect Fremantle Port, it features two 9.2-inch naval guns, underground tunnels, magazines and observation posts. Now a heritage attraction managed by the Rottnest Island Authority, it is accessible via guided tours and the Oliver Hill Railway.
