About Natural Rock Bridge (Howrah Bridge)
The Natural Rock Bridge, commonly called Howrah Bridge, is a natural coral rock arch on Shaheed Dweep (formerly Neil Island) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Located at Lakshmanpur Beach No. 2 on the island's northwestern coast, it was formed by continuous erosion of coral and limestone. Resembling Kolkata's Howrah Bridge, it is a prominent natural landmark known for its arch shape, exposed reef during low tide, and scenic coastal setting.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a natural coral and rock arch formation standing over a shallow reef flat at Lakshmanpur Beach. Access is via a short walk over dead coral, rocks and sand, exposed only during low tide. The site offers open sea views, tide pools with small marine life, and surrounding sandy beach and rocky coastline. There are no built structures; the experience is primarily sightseeing, photography and observing the natural arch and reef landscape during daylight hours.
