About Marmion Marine Park
Marmion Marine Park is Western Australia's first marine park, declared in 1987, stretching along Perth's northern coastline from Trigg Island to Burns Beach off the City of Joondalup. Covering approximately 9,500 hectares, it protects limestone reefs, islands, seagrass beds and diverse marine life. Notable for its clear waters, snorkelling and dive sites, and access via Hillarys Boat Harbour, it is managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a coastal marine park with offshore limestone reefs, small islands including Little Island, and sheltered lagoons accessible by boat, kayak or snorkelling from shore. The main gateway is Hillarys Boat Harbour, with boat ramps, lookouts and AQWA. Activities centre on snorkelling, diving, swimming, boating and wildlife watching in a natural ocean setting with sandy beaches and reef platforms. Zoned areas regulate fishing and sanctuary protection.
