About Lucky Bay
Lucky Bay is a renowned beach within Cape Le Grand National Park, about 50 kilometres east of Esperance in Western Australia. Famous for its exceptionally white quartz sand and turquoise water, it is consistently ranked among Australia's best beaches. The bay is known for western grey kangaroos that frequently visit the shoreline. Located on the south coast, it offers swimming, camping and coastal scenery within a protected national park setting.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a long crescent of bright white sand and clear turquoise water backed by coastal heath and granite peaks. The beach is largely natural with no shops or resorts. Facilities are limited to a day-use area and campground with toilets, barbecues and parking. Kangaroos often graze on the beach, especially in the morning. Swimming, beach walking, photography and camping are the main activities in an exposed, windy coastal environment.
