About Frenchman Peak
Frenchman Peak is a prominent 262-metre granite dome in Cape Le Grand National Park, about 30 kilometres east of Esperance in Western Australia. Shaped like a Frenchman's hat, it is one of the park's most recognizable landmarks. The peak offers a steep but short hiking trail to its summit, providing panoramic views over the Recherche Archipelago, white-sand beaches and coastal heathlands. It is valued for its natural scenery, geology and accessible day-hike experience.

Visitors can expect a short but steep hike over exposed granite to the summit of a distinctive dome-shaped peak within Cape Le Grand National Park. The trail passes through coastal heath and over bare rock with a small cave partway up. At the summit, there are expansive 360-degree views of Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand coastline, islands of the Recherche Archipelago and surrounding bushland. The area is natural and undeveloped except for a marked trail, car park and basic facilities at the trailhead.
