About Kamadgiri Temple and Parikrama
Kamadgiri Temple and Parikrama is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site centered on Kamadgiri Hill in Chitrakoot, Satna District, Madhya Pradesh, on the Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh border. The hill is revered as the original Chitrakoot and believed to fulfill wishes. The main temple dedicated to Lord Rama is at the hill's base, and devotees perform a 5 km circumambulation (parikrama) around the forested hill, which houses several smaller shrines including Bharat Milap Temple.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a 5 km paved parikrama path encircling the forested Kamadgiri Hill, lined with small shrines, shops and food stalls. The main Kamadgiri (Kamtanath) Temple at the base houses idols of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana.
