About Kalim Beach
Kalim Beach is a small beach located just north of Patong Beach in Patong Subdistrict, Kathu District, Phuket Province, Thailand. Situated along the west coast of Phuket Island on the Andaman Sea, it is known for its rocky shoreline, coral reef and surf break rather than wide sandy stretches. Adjacent to the main coastal road, it offers views of the bay, sunset viewpoints and proximity to Patong's amenities while retaining a quieter atmosphere than neighboring Patong Beach.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a narrow, rocky bay with a coral reef, small sandy patches visible at low tide, and a paved coastal road running directly behind the beach. The setting is more natural and quieter than Patong Beach, with views across Kalim Bay, surf waves during monsoon season, and nearby restaurants and cafes. Areas to explore include the shoreline, rock pools at low tide, and roadside viewpoints for photography and sunset watching. Swimming is limited by rocks and reef.
