About Jewel Cave
Jewel Cave is the largest show cave in Western Australia, located in Deepdene near Augusta within Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, about 8 km north of Augusta and 37 km south of Margaret River. Renowned for its exceptionally long straw stalactites, large chambers and crystal formations, it is one of four publicly accessible caves in the Margaret River region and is operated as a guided-tour attraction.
Visitors guide
Visitors experience a fully guided tour through large, well-lit chambers accessed via stairs and walkways. The cave features dense straw stalactite ceilings, stalagmites, flowstones, helictites and an underground lake. Tours are led by guides who explain geology and fossil history. Above ground, the site is set in karri forest with a visitor centre, cafe and forest walk trails. Access involves approximately 300 stairs and cool, humid conditions inside.
