History of Dwarkadhish Temple Kankroli
The temple was built by Maharana Raj Singh I of Mewar in 1676 AD, constructed at the same time as the inauguration of Rajsamand Lake. The idol of Lord Dwarkadhish was brought from Mathura in 1671 AD during the Mughal period when temples faced threats of desecration. The deity was transported from Gokul to Ahmedabad and finally to Kankroli. The grandson of Vallabhacharya, Sri Bal Krishna Ji, took responsibility for the deity's care, establishing this as one of the most important centers of Vaishnavite worship.
