About Collie Mural Trail
The Collie Mural Trail is a large outdoor art trail in Collie, in Western Australia's South West region, about 200 kilometres south of Perth. It features more than 40 large-scale murals painted on buildings, walls and the Wellington Dam wall throughout the town and surrounds. Developed from 2015 to revitalise the former coal-mining town, the trail showcases works by local and international artists depicting local history, nature and community stories.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a self-guided walking and driving trail through the Collie town centre and surrounds, with large-scale murals on building walls, laneways, and infrastructure. The trail includes the Wellington Dam mural, one of the largest dam murals in the world, located about 8 km west of town. Murals depict local history, coal mining heritage, native flora and fauna, and Noongar culture. The town section is walkable, while outer murals require a vehicle. Maps are available from the Collie Visitor Centre.
