About Buley Rockhole
Buley Rockhole is a series of tiered rock pools on Florence Creek in Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory, about 100 kilometres southwest of Darwin. Formed by cascading water over sandstone ledges, it creates shallow, clear swimming holes surrounded by open woodland. Located near the northern entrance of the park, it is one of Litchfield's most accessible and popular swimming spots, known for its stepped pools and easy short walk from the car park.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a sequence of shallow, cascading rock pools linked by small waterfalls along Florence Creek, set in open savanna woodland. A short sealed walking track from the car park leads to viewing areas and stepped pools where visitors can wade and swim when conditions permit. The site is natural and undeveloped beyond basic visitor infrastructure, with clear water in the dry season, rocky ledges for sitting, and surrounding bushland for sightseeing and photography.
