About Budbud Tali
Budbud Tali is a sacred freshwater lake located in Netravali village within the Sanguem taluka of South Goa. It is renowned for a unique natural phenomenon where bubbles continuously rise from the lakebed and intensify in response to sound or clapping. The lake is situated adjacent to the historic Shri Gopinath Temple and holds religious significance for local communities. Scientific explanations attribute the bubbling to gases such as methane or carbon dioxide emerging from beneath the surface.

History of Budbud Tali
The lake is associated with the Shri Gopinath Temple, which dates back several centuries and has architectural links to the Shilahara and Kadamba dynasties. Some historians suggest renovation during the reign of King Jayakeshi I. The original Krishna idol from the temple, dating to the 14th century, is now preserved in the Goa State Museum in Panaji. Rock-cut Shivlings behind the temple indicate an even older tradition of Shiva worship at the site.
