About Berry Island Reserve
Berry Island Reserve is a harbourside bushland reserve in Wollstonecraft within the North Sydney local government area, New South Wales. Once a true island in Sydney Harbour, it is now connected to the mainland by reclaimed land. The reserve is notable for its Aboriginal rock engravings, remnant Sydney Harbour bushland, the short Gadyan Track loop, and panoramic views across Balls Head Bay and Woodford Bay. It is managed by North Sydney Council as a public heritage and nature reserve.
Visitors guide
Visitors can expect a small, natural bushland reserve on a former harbour island with a short loop walking track (Gadyan Track), interpretive signage, Aboriginal rock engravings, and open grassy areas. The setting is quiet and wooded with sandstone outcrops, harbour views to Balls Head and Woodford Bay, and opportunities for short walks, photography, picnicking and heritage viewing. There are no shops or major built facilities within the reserve itself.
