Kundala Lake
Kundala Lake is an artificial reservoir formed by the Kundala Dam, also known as Sethuparvati Dam, located approximately 20 kilometers from Munnar in Kerala's Idukki district. Built in 1946 as part of the Pallivasal Hydroelectric Project, it is recognized as Asia's first arch dam. The lake sits at an elevation of 1700 meters above sea level and is surrounded by lush tea plantations, cherry blossom trees, and hills where the rare Neela Kurinji flowers bloom once every twelve years.
