Jaljali (Shaking Earth)

Jaljali, also called the Shaking Earth, is a natural phenomenon located in Mainpat in Surguja district, Chhattisgarh. The site features a stretch of marshy land that vibrates and bounces when jumped upon, due to underground water trapped beneath a thin layer of soil and vegetation. Surrounded by forests in the hill station of Mainpat, often called the Shimla of Chhattisgarh, it is a notable curiosity and popular tourist attraction.
