Eyre Bird Observatory
Eyre Bird Observatory is Australia's first bird observatory located within Nuytsland Nature Reserve on the remote south coast of Western Australia, near the Great Australian Bight. Housed in the restored 1897 Eyre Telegraph Station, it is operated by BirdLife Australia as a research, conservation and visitor facility. Surrounded by mallee, sand dunes and coastal heath, it is notable for diverse birdlife, isolation on the Nullarbor Plain and heritage significance.
