Jointly managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and the City of Canning, it protects wetlands, woodlands and floodplains. Notable for walking and cycling trails, birdwatching, Kent Street Weir, the historic Woodloes Homestead (1871) and Castledare Miniature Railway, it provides accessible nature-based recreation close to the city.
