Maldon
Maldon is a preserved 19th-century gold-rush town in the Shire of Mount Alexander, central Victoria, about 140 km northwest of Melbourne. Declared Australia's first Notable Town by the National Trust in 1966, it retains an intact Victorian streetscape with heritage buildings, miners' cottages and mining relics. Notable for its gold-mining history, historic reserve and the Victorian Goldfields Railway, it offers an authentic insight into Victoria's goldfields era.
