Royal Park
Royal Park is Melbourne's largest inner-city park, covering about 170 hectares in Parkville, approximately 3 kilometres north of the central business district. Reserved in 1854, it combines remnant native grasslands, eucalypt woodlands and the Trin Warren Tam-boore wetlands with sports fields, playgrounds and walking trails. It is notable for its natural landscapes, biodiversity, recreational facilities and adjacency to Melbourne Zoo, serving as a major open space for residents and visitors.
