Sovereign Hill
Sovereign Hill is an open-air living museum in Ballarat, Victoria, recreating an 1850s gold-mining township on the site of the historic Ballarat goldfields. Opened in 1970, it spans 25 hectares with over 60 historically recreated buildings, costumed staff and working exhibits. Notable for its immersive depiction of the Victorian gold rush, underground mine tours and daily gold pour, it is one of Australia's most visited heritage attractions.
