Kuranda
Kuranda is a small rainforest village on the Atherton Tableland in the Shire of Mareeba, Queensland, about 25 kilometres northwest of Cairns. Surrounded by World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics rainforest and Barron Gorge National Park, it is known as the 'Village in the Rainforest'. Notable for its heritage Kuranda Scenic Railway, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, vibrant markets, and wildlife attractions, it serves as a major day-trip destination from Cairns.
