Copperfield Gorge

Copperfield Gorge is a natural gorge on the Copperfield River just outside Einasleigh in Etheridge Shire, North Queensland. Formed by ancient basalt lava flows, it is notable for its dramatic columnar basalt walls, wide river channel and seasonal waterholes. Located on the Savannah Way, it is a key visitor stop between Forsayth and Einasleigh, valued for its geology, scenery and accessible riverside setting.
