Shrine of Remembrance
The Shrine of Remembrance is the central war memorial within ANZAC Square in Brisbane City, Queensland, located between Ann and Adelaide Streets. Opened on 11 November 1930, it honours Queenslanders who served in conflicts, particularly World War I. The classical Greek Revival shrine features sandstone columns, an Eternal Flame and Memorial Galleries beneath. Set in a formal parkland with memorial walls, it serves as Brisbane's principal site for Anzac Day and Remembrance Day commemorations.
